Spring, Poems On Nature

"In Full Bloom"

In Full Bloom

By Renee Dixon

The retreating frigid winter leaves,

every ounce of life drawn from the foliage.

Dismal drops of rain muddle the ground,

the sun invigorates life with her voltage.

It's warmth a proposal of growth,

as everything sluggishly awakens.

Browns and grays convert to green,

in a dreary world that felt forsaken.

A quietly subdued forest now buzzing,

brought to life by the luxuriant growth,

of vibrant flowers eagerly budding,

the honeybees fervently take their oath.

A fragrant yellow tea party fills the fields,

the land puts on a perfume of daffodils,

a harbinger to the tulips, lily of the valley,

the bluebells and crocus, or bushy dahlia.

Little fledglings are brought to life,

from tiny speckled eggs of blue.

Their chirrups in a birdsong heard,

from the nest their mother grew.

A once drab world, revitalized.

Spring flowers in full bloom,

a youthful girl rests her bike,

beside a tree to pick a few.
