"Writing poetry is my passion, ignited by thoughts, fueled by ink. A way to travel through another mind, where souvenirs of tears are tucked away inside your soul. Or leave you with smiles for miles, depending on which route you go."

Blossom

As I anticipate your arrival,

time seems to operate in slow motion.

This journey started on a speed boat,

now we are sailing through the ocean.

I haven't seen your face yet,

or found out who you are.

I've felt you from the inside,

I've heard your beating heart.

When I finally get to see you,

within your father's embrace,

I'll water you with joyous tears,

that fall upon my face.

No gardener was more excited,

to see their roses bloom.

You are our little blossom,

and Spring is coming soon.

Poem of

The Day!

WELCOME TO MY WORLD

I am so delighted that out of the billions of sites on the web, you've made your way to my writing retreat! My name is Renee and I am a Christian writer, and poet. I truly believe that my talent comes from God, which is why I have decided to use it for his glory! I am passionate about many things, but sharing the love of Christ through my poetry and blog, is very important to me. I hope my words touch your soul, and leave you with a smile for miles. Thanks again for being here!

"She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness."
-Proverbs 31:26
  • How long have you been writing?
Surprisingly, almost twenty years! I started writing as a little girl, and fell in love with poetry at an early age! It's always been an outlet for my emotions and helped me through many hard times.
  • Who is your favorite poet?
I still consider the psalms of David to be some of the best poetry and it comes from God's word! I also love Emily Dickinson, a classic poet who's words have lived throughout the ages.
  • What do you blog about?
I will be blogging about many issues Chrisitian women face, bible related topics, living a Christian life, parenting as a Christian mother, and other topics relating to God. I will also be sharing some of my Christian poetry within my blogs!
  • What is your favorite bible verse?
I love so many of them, and my favorite changes from time to time. Right now the one that speaks to me most is Psalm 37:4-5, "Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." This was on my heart when I found out I was pregnant with my third child, and God knew the desire of my heart was for a daughter, after having two precious boys. So when we found out our third child was a little girl, I knew God was giving us the desires of our heart.
  • How often do you post, where can we find more?"
I try to post poetry on my Twitter (@ReneeDixon_) daily, as well as my Facebook page (Facebook.com/reneedixonwrites). I update my blog weekly, and I try to post a new poem on my site daily for my "Poem of the Day". I also have two books published on Amazon, "Inked" and "Love, The Dark Side, The Light Side", which you can find links to on my site.
