Turkey Tail Tea, Trametes Versicolor Tea, Instant Pot version included.

I went on a beautiful hike today with my husband and found one of my favorite medicinal mushrooms, turkey tail. Scientific name, Trametes Versicolor. This one has so many benefits and immune system supporting properties, it's a great tea to add to your diet. You can dry it and grind it up to make capsules, prepare it as a tea, create tinctures and more. Today I am going to be making turkey tail tea in my instant pot.

Turkey Tail Tea

1 cup fresh, properly identified turkey tail fresh or dry

1/2 gallon water

Chop the turkey tail up to help break up tough fibers. Boil the turkey tail in water then simmer on low 15 minutes. Let sit until cool. Strain and enjoy!

Instant Pot version

1 cup fresh, properly identified turkey tail mushroom fresh or dry

4 cups water

In the instant pot add 4 cups water, and chopped up turkey tail mushroom. Turn to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 5 minutes, natural release.

Strain turkey tail mushroom pieces out, may add water to dilute depending on strength.

I use a half cup of tails to 2 cups of water and set the IP for 30 minutes with a 15 minute release. Tastes good and makes me feel good.
